Barcelona’s main festival
Every year, at the end of September, Barcelona celebrates its main festival: La Mercè, a celebration that pays tribute to the city’s patron saint and turns the streets, squares, and emblematic spaces into stages of culture, tradition, and community. From free concerts and light shows to children’s activities, dance, urban art, and fireworks.
The 2025 edition promises to be more vibrant than ever. For several days, the city comes alive with a diverse program that combines the best of Catalan tradition, such as the castellers, the gegants, the cercavila, or the correfoc, with contemporary proposals.
Experience the festival in the heart of Barcelona!
During La Mercè 2025, the Gothic Quarter will be one of the epicenters of the celebration, with streets full of history hosting concerts, shows, and cultural activities. This year, the concert by Rocío Márquez on September 23 at Avinguda de la Catedral stands out, just a few steps from our Alcobas. In addition, the city will offer more than one hundred free performances in nearby spaces such as Plaça Sant Jaume, Plaça Catalunya, or La Rambla del Raval, filling the city center with music and life.
The traditional correfocs are also planned, with fire, drums, and devils traveling along Passeig de Gràcia on Saturday the 27th in the afternoon and evening, just a short walk from La Alcoba Azul, located at Rambla Catalunya 94, where you can visit us right after enjoying the show.
This, while you enjoy the cultural route of La Mercè, Las Alcobas becomes the perfect place to take a break, share a meal, and continue celebrating in the heart of Barcelona.
